Hey all, long time no read? Okay, bad joke. LOL! Anyways, there has been some busy time for this writer since we last talked. I have had to fulfill a few long article contracts along with my usual J.O.B. I am back, full swing again. I would like to post here for any of my readers in New Hampshire, actually any writer near the state capital of Concord. There is a new writer's group forming at a bookstore, Liberty Books and Comics at 75 Allison St. I went to the first meeting and it seems like it might take off actually. The owner of the bookstore, Jim Dodson, was present and the Joe Paquette, a friend from my usual J.O.B., gathered a few of us writers together. We spend an hour getting to know each other and talking about our passion of writing. We also talked about support and what each other's strengths are when it comes to writing. I actually lost track of time. The meeting was only suppose to be an hour which Joe was great about keeping it moving along and on track. We all decided to meet again, in a month. Also, Joe and Jim wanted to open this up to more writers in the area. They will be advertising this writers group, however, if anyone in the area wants to catch up with this group - the next meeting is August 25, between 6 and 7 PM. No RSVP is required, just show up. I already know of several more people that will be making an attendance for the next meeting. If nothing else, you can network with other writers or just browse the shelves of the store.
Now, I am going to try and get back into blogging more. I have been busy writing, working and finding time with the family. I have bought a few electronic fun toys that I want to review on this site as well as - I am in the market for a new laptop. You will be getting some reviews on these and more gadgets for writers. I also am compiling some sources for publishing your article, looking for jobs and book publishing. My plan is to review some and have you let me know how things are going with your current publisher. I also welcome book reviewers, ads and websites where many of you are listed. I will publish any links to your work or personal website. Just drop me a line.
Well, I am off. I have some things to do as this is my day off from my J.O.B., but not from writing. :)

networking
Well, hello all!
I just wanted to drop by and see how you all were doing. So? How are you doing? I want to just droll on about a subject that I can not stress enough - networking. I had a wonderful opportunity in my own J.O.B. to network about my writing and past experiences. I think I told you all about working with other writers. Well, Saturday we decided to get together at Borders in Concord. Although, one of our three guest did not show up - myself and one of the other writers had quite a meeting. The meeting was only suppose to be an hour - nope, almost two hours we met. It was a wonderful meeting. Because of networking even in my day job - I now have the opportunity (possibly) to open a new publishing company with the help of the other writer. It had been his dream, and mine to start again. We need to hash out the details, but I love writing and I love to make other writers dreams come true. It seems like we have the same goals and the same ethics, so I hope to start this project in the near future.
What does this really have to do with networking? You would be surprised at how many doors have opened for me - personally - through networking. You can network anywhere you go. Meet with other writiers, meet with editors... meet with everyone. You need to get yourself out there - the jobs and opportunities will not come knocking at your door. You need to make things happen for yourself.
Some places to network on the internet:
Myspace
Yuwie
facebook
twitter
digg
through your own blogs
oh, my the list goes on.
If you have found a new networking place, drop me a comment. I would love to check it out.
Well, I am off. I have a writing project that I have to do before I have to go back to work tomorrow. Remember to read, write and be merry.

The new The Writer Magazine
The new the Writer magazine for August 2009 just arrived at my door. For those of you wanting to know the in's and out's of your first novel, there is a great article on page 28. Those of you that love gadgets like me... the article on High-Tech Tools for Writers on page 33 is an eye opening article. If you are a veteran writer like me, remember the days of a portable tape recorder, camera, notebook, pencil, datebook or scheduler and a large briefcase was what you brought to be able to do an interview? Well, with technology today, all I need is my cellphone, my laptop (and I do not always need this one) and a scheduled date with my interviewee is all I need today. Life has really gotten easy for writers. If you do not receive the Writer, it is definitely one of my favorite magazines for over thirteen years.
I hope everyone had a great Fourth of July weekend. I did not do much writing, I hope you all did. Reading page 38 of the Writer reminds me of something all writers need to do, social networking. It is essential in any business, but I think it is so important with freelance writing or if you plan on writing a book. There are so many places to social network:
Facebook
Twitter
MySpace
Mediabistro's social meetings
LinkedIn
Digg.com
Cafemom
and many, many more.
It is so important to get out to the world of the business you run. Yes, writing is a business. Even if you write as a hobby. If you ever plan on getting published in any manner, social networking is essential. I really do not know how to emphasize this more.
Thank you, remember to read, write and be merry.

Back from Maine

Well, I am back in my home office in New Hampshire. Above you can see the pool in which me and my boys swam all weekend. We stayed at the Countryview Motel on Route 1.
We went to the Nubble and saw the lighthouse.

We drove along Long Sands and then we spent time on Short Sands where my boys found it fun to play in the beach sand.

By taking this mini vacation over the weekend it has given me a break from the stress of everyday living. I did not write much, which I regret. However, we had a wonderful time. I hope you enjoyed the few pictures I have posted. Tomorrow I will be back to the chains of writing and get some job postings done. I have found a few you might want to know about. Until tomorrow then. Remember to read, write and be merry.

Vacationing in Maine
Hey all! I am here in Maine at the Countryview Motel in my rented townhouse overlooking the pool. Wow! This is so great. I just came home from a trip to Short Sands. We all had a lovely time. We visited the Goldenrod, a candy store that make homemade candies. It reminded me of the candy store on the 'Harry Potter's' movies. We all had a ball. I am going to be jumping in the pool soon. It has been sunny and beautiful. The whole family is destressed. Not much has been happening on the writing front other than my upcoming tele-summit that I was invited to take part of on June 30, 2009. Kimmoy the Curvy Coach personally invited me to join. There is not that many spaces left so if you are a part of the fashion media in any way, drop me a line, I can hook you up for free.
I have not downloaded any of my pictures from my cellphone yet, so as soon as I do, I will put them up here so you can see the sites. It is simply beautiful here. We are hoping to come back again, if not this summer definately next year, twice!
Well, I am off. Remember to read, write and be merry.

Write well and get rewards
My examiner.com job just gave me some wonderful rewards. On examiner I write for plus-size fashions. A media rep from IGIGI just contacted me to do a product review for their clothing line. This is wonderful to have this kind of feedback. They read my articles and loved them. I am a bit excited to say the least. I'll keep you posted as to what happens.
Today was a long 8 hours at work. I am home now checking on how things have progressed with my work online. I am also planning a few articles that I am also researching as I write this blog. I really need the weekend to catch up on my articles that I never got to yesterday. One is an article on examiner.
I have tripled my pay on examiner.com by linking and doing things to gain hits. I am excited about that also. I have given up on attaching my blog to mylot. I am going to see about getting it attached somewhere else.
How are all you doing on your writing? I look forward to hearing from more of you. I'll catch up with you all tomorrow. Have a wonderful night. I leave you with one question, did you write something today?

Tired of computers
Today has been a trying day. I have had computer issues through the roof. This happens some days when you are trying to make money of the Internet. Today I had to remember that eventually today will end and tomorrow is a new day. All the flustrations will leave me and tomorrow is new and new projects will come and go.
The writer's life is like this, it can be fun and exciting on one hand and the other it can be hard, flustrating and you want to pick your computer up and throw it off the balcony. I did not do this, but I wanted too.
So I now sit, resolved. Resolved in the fact that something I wanted to get done today will not get done today. I have tomorrow. I am sitting with a cup of coffee and blogging you in hopes to actually stop getting flustrated and start looking forward to tomorrow. I now leave you to remember, even if the day does not go the way you want it to, tomorrow is another day. :)

New article on Examiner.com
Well, I was able to finally sit down today and together another article for examiner.com. If anyone is interested in viewing it, I put a link at the bottom of this page - just click on examiner.com and you can view my new article and any future articles for this month as I will be writing at least three more this week.
My insomnia... still got it. I just went to Walgreen's today and hopefully I will be able to sleep tonight. Ill let you know if what I picked up worked. Maybe it will work for others. Anyways...
I had a horrible morning, but after I visited my mother this afternoon, all seems well with the world. I paid her for my share of our townhouse we rented in Maine for the June 26th through June 28th weekend. Do not worry! I am taking my laptop and my sprint wireless adapter - I'll write you all about it. I really need a mini vacation. In this recession, a weekend is all I can affoqurd. Oh, do not worry, I will be adding pictures of our mini vacation for you to all make comments on and see how weird my family is - well, I am too. LOL!
I see that I have some visitors. Feel free to make comments and let me know if I am boring you. LOL! If you have any questions, I will gladly answer them through the blog. :)
Tomorrow is a 4:30 AM morning. Working weekends definately puts a damper on my relaxations. Oh, well. I guess I have to pay bills. I dont know, something about needing to pay the rent or I cant stay here. Go figure. LOL!
Well, I am off for the evening. I hope to make longer blogs as I get used to doing this type of thing. I do hope some are getting something out of this... Night all.

Wittywriter's life as a writer
Well, I tried to get some writing done today. Didn't! I tried and sat next to a blank screen from 7:30 until 9:00 AM. I got fed up and took a shower. I tried to write after, but found that I just surfed the web until my husband told me WE needed to go to Bestbuy.
After Bestbuy, I ended up in Manchester NH. I was there in a hot car until we went back home around 4:40PM. Man, I wasted the day. And now I just am trying to salvage the day with the blog. At least I have some writing done.
I joined a new writing area, it is hubpages.com. It has been going well. I already have 43 hubs published on it. I am making a little, okay, not much yet, but I have only been on there a short time. If anyone wants to check out my hubs go to http://hubpages.com/profile/wittywriter , I would appreciate it if anyone makes comments. Also, please join. We could always use another hubber.
Another writing place hiring is examiner.com. When filling out the application, put April Godbout in the reference area. Well, I am going to end for the night. Ill chat with you soon. Ill give you a list of other places I writer for that are still looking for writers.
